Coach Marquette WilkinsMeet Coach Marquette Wilkins

Marquette Wilkins was born and raised in Austin, Texas. He attended John B. Connally High School where he started four years on the varsity team. Marquette received a basketball scholarship from Midwestern State University located in Wichita Falls, Texas. Among his many accomplishments at MSU, his greatest accomplishment was receiving his degree in Business Computer Information Systems.

Wilkins has placed his name in the school's history. He finished his college career eighth in the school's all time scoring, second in the school's all time free throws made, second in the school's all time assists and second in the school's all time steals.

Wilkins was also North Division Freshman of the Year in 2001, Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Player of the Year in 2002, Second Team Lone Star Conference South Division 2002 and 2003, Pre Season All American by Street and Smith Magazine 2003, First Team Lone Star Conference South Division 2004, Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Player of the Year in 2004, and Daktronics First Team All South Region in 2003-2004.

Coach Wilkins hopes that all of the young men learn a lot about basketball and what it takes to compete at the next level. He encourages the boys to want to be a part of something greater than themselves which is the Texas Thunder team and organization. Wilkins believes that Thunder is a family and he welcomes everyone who is a part of it.
